Apple Valley Woodturners (AVW), based in Winchester, VA, is a woodturner’s club serving the northern Shenandoah Valley area. Our group meets regularly to share our enthusiasm about all things related to woodturning by teaching and demonstrating turning methods and techniques.
We normally gather on the third Saturday of the month at NW Works in Winchester, starting at about 8:30 AM for social time. The main meeting begins at 9:00 AM (club business, members show-and-tell, a raffle, and usually a live demonstration). In addition, there are periodic skills development sessions where members can get individualized instruction from more experienced woodturners and learn how to make specific projects.
Non-members are welcome to attend one or two meetings to understand more about the organization. Membership details can be found at https://applevalleywoodturners.info/join-us/. Non-members may not attend the skills sessions.
The address for NW Works is: 3085 Shawnee Dr, Winchester, VA 22601. You can look up directions to find NW Works here
The Apple Valley Woodturners Mission is:
“To educate our members, other woodturners, and the public in and about the art and craft of woodturning.”
